Het belangrijkste ingredient van Fins onderwijs: VERTROUWEN. Aulis Pitkälä was vijf jaar lang directeur-generaal van The Finnish National Agency for education. Aulis Pitkälä antwoordde: ‘Develop a spirit of continuous improvement within teachers. They should ask themselves every day how education can be better. They should also trust their students and have faith that students can become their own teachers. There is one very important word in Finnish education: TRUST. When you have an inspection, you DON’T trust people. The level of our teachers is so high – they all have masters degrees – that we trust them. We know they know what’s good for education.’
